Hayfaa Chalabi is an illustrator and educator interested in the role of illustration to re-contextualise narratives, histories, and discussions. Her work revolves around the intersections of visual culture, gender, and migration. Chalabi's feminist and decolonial approach to educating illustration refuses to look at the two disciplines as neutral, and/or non-political, and aims to invite students to explore illustration beyond narrow norms of western visual communication. Currently, Chalabi works as a senior lecturer and coordinator at the University of Arts in London (UAL).
